My joy is seeing champions in my team, under my mentorship start small and grow gradually with hard work, discipline and commitment.

My Journey – Hesbon Kariuki
I pursued a Diploma in Electrical Engineering at Michuki National Polytechnic (MiNaP) in Murang’a County, and I’m currently awaiting graduation. After completing my studies, I returned home to Nairobi and began searching for a job. Like many young graduates, I didn’t want to continue being a burden to my parents. Unfortunately, finding work related to my field proved challenging, so I took up construction (mjengo) jobs just to make ends meet.

One day, I realized something important — despite the hard labor we did, the pay was minimal, while the foremen earned significantly more. That moment was a wake-up call. I decided to quit construction for good, with no disrespect to those still in the trade.
Later, I landed a sales role at a Nairobi-based company selling hair clippers, starting on a probationary salary of Ksh 18,000 per month. After two months, I was moved to a combined telemarketing and sales position, earning Ksh 25,000 during probation. I gave it my all, walking the streets daily to promote products to barbers. Still, I felt my efforts went unappreciated and saw no clear future, so I left.

Next, I joined another sales company, only to discover I was expected to work two weeks unpaid, selling products with the promise of a small salary afterward. That didn’t sit well with me, so I left during my second day of training, still out in the field!
With no job and nowhere to turn, I stayed home. My dad, who has a steady job, hoped I’d find stability soon, but I was determined to carve my own path. That’s when I discovered GIF. I immediately got involved, using my savings to get started.

Today, I’m proud to say I pay my own bills and even support my parents and my younger sibling through college. GIF truly stands out — it values your effort and rewards you fairly, helping build passive income over time. I’m confident the future is brighter with GIF.
Thank you, GIF.
